Is your Vivint Thermostat not responding to the Vivint app? There could be a few reasons why this is happening to your thermostat. Have you checked the batteries? Have you checked to see if your Vivint app is up to date?
It could even be a connection issue or a technical issue on the app’s side that you can not fix.
In this guide, I will be going over the most common reasons on why your Vivint Thermostat is not responding to the Vivint app and ways you can solve these issues on your own.
Why is Vivint Thermostat Not Responding to App?
An issue you may be running into with your Vivint Thermostat is that it is not responding to the Vivint app. There are a few things you can do and check to see if you can fix this issue.
Below I will be going over the most common reasons and ways you can fix the issue. Thankfully some of these reasons have pretty easy solutions, getting your Vivint Thermostat to respond to the app again.
1. Vivint Thermostat is Not Receiving Power
One of the first things you should do when you notice that your Vivint Thermostat is not responding to the Vivint app is to check if your thermostat is receiving power. Is your Vivint thermostat device turned on? Are the batteries dead or low?
These are the questions you should be asking yourself when having any issues with your Vivint Thermostat. A set of new batteries can do wonders in solving any problems with your smart thermostat.
If your Vivint thermostat is turned off then turn it on and see if it connects to your Vivint app. If your Vivint Thermostat device is turned on and still not responding to the app then it is time to check the batteries.
Fix – Check/Change the Batteries on Your Vivint Thermostat
Your Vivint thermostat is turned on and is still not responding to the app, what do you do now? Go to your thermostat and check to see if your thermostat batteries are low or dead.
Obviously, when your batteries are dead your thermostat will not be on and will not connect to the Vivint app. Having low batteries will also cause issues with connecting to the Vivint app.
Try removing the batteries and putting them back in to see if that works, if it does not work you should replace the batteries.
Here are the AA batteries (view on Amazon) that I personally use.
Once the new batteries are in your thermostat turn on the device and try pairing it with the Vivint app. If changing the batteries does not work read below to see what you can do next to get your Vivint Thermostat responding to the Vivint app.
2. Vivint App is Out of Date
