How to Lock/Unlock Hornbill Smart Lock

If you are having trouble with locking and unlocking your Hornbill Smart Lock or are not sure how to pair your Hornbill Smart Lock to the TTLock App, read further and I will go over that and more.

How to Lock Hornbill Smart Lock

There are a few ways you can lock your Hornbill Smart Lock making your home secure when you are home and away. Below I will go over the ways you can Lock your Hornbill Smart Lock.

Note, if you are using your apps to lock the Hornbill Smart Lock you need to be within Bluetooth range for it to lock. If you are trying to lock your door using the app you will need to set up the lock with your TTLock App via WiFi which will require a gateway.

Keypad:

Press and hold the # key for 3 seconds or until you hear the deadbolt lock.

TTLock APP:

1. Download the TTLock App to your smartphone and pair your smart lock to the TTLock App
2. Open TTLock App on your phone.
3. Tap the Padlock icon and your door will be locked.

Hornbill Smart Lock App:

1. If you have the Hornbill Smart Lock App downloaded to your phone, open the app and log into your account.
2. On the home screen tap on the “Lock” button.
3. When your door is locked you will see a message displayed on your home screen saying the smart lock is secured.

Alexa or Google Home:

1. Pair your Hornbill Smart Lock with your Google Home or Alexa.
2. Use a voice command to lock the door, for example: “Alexa, lock the front door.” “Hey Google, lock the front door.”
3. Or you can go into your Alexa or Google Home app and lock the door by tapping the Padlock icon.

Physical Key:

Insert the Key in the keyhole and turn the key to the lock potion, locking your front door.

Auto-Lock:

Note, setting auto-lock will automatically lock your door after it has been unlocked for some time, the time is customized by you depending on how you want the door unlocked.

1. Go into your TTLock App Settings
2. Select “Auto Lock”
3. Set how long you want your Hornbill Smart Lock to wait before doing the Auto Lock.

How to Unlock Hornbill Smart Lock

Like locking your Hornbill Smart Lock there are a few ways you can unlock it too.

Keypad:

1. Press the # key on your keypad.
2. Enter your personal Hornbill Smart Lock passcode.
3. Press the # key once again after entering your passcode, this will unlock your door.

TTLock App:

1. Download the TTLock App to your phone and pair your Hornbill Smart Lock to the TTLock App.
2. Open the TTLock App on your phone.
3. Tap the Padlock icon on the app and this will unlock the door.

Hornbill Smart Lock App:

If you have the Hornbill Smart Lock App downloaded on your phone log into your account

1. Tap the “Unlock” button on your Hornbill Smart Lock app’s home screen.
2. Once the door is unlocked you will see a message displayed on your app saying that your door is unlocked.

Alexa or Google Home:

1. Pair your Hornbill Smart Lock to your Google Home or Alexa.
2. For a hands-free option say a voice command to unlock your door. For example: “Hey Google, unlock the front door.” or “Alexa, unlock the front door.”
3. You can also go into your Alexa or Google Home app and press the “Unlock” button to unlock the door.

How to Lock Hornbill Smart Lock From Outside

As stated above there are a few ways you can lock your Hornbill Smart Lock and that is the same way if you are outside. Here is how to lock your Hornbill Smart Lock from the outside. Note, if you are using your apps to lock the Hornbill Smart Lock you need to be within Bluetooth range for it to lock. If you are trying to lock your door using the app you will need to set up the lock with your TTLock App via WiFi which will require a gateway.

Keypad:

1. Press the # Key on your keypad for 3 seconds or until you hear the lock secure.

1. Open your TTLock app on your smartphone.
2. Tap on the Padlock icon.

Hornbill Smart Lock App (If Within Bluetooth Range):

1. Open your Hornbill Smart Lock App on your smartphone.
2. On the home screen tap the “Lock” button.

Physical Key:

1. Insert the Key into the keyhole, and turn to the lock position securing your home.

How to Pair Hornbill Smart Lock with TTLock App

When you have a Hornbill Smart Lock you want to download the TTLock app on your smartphone and pair your smart lock to the TTLock App. This can make it easy for you to lock and unlock your home.

If you have the Hornbill Smart Lock set up to the TTLock via WiFi using a Gateway, you can control your lock remoting. Meaning when you are miles away you can make sure your home is locked and secure. Here is how to pair your Hornbill Smart Lock with the TTLock App.

1. Download and Install the TTLock App on your smartphone.
2. Open your TTLock App and log in, if you do not have an account then create a new account.
3. On your smartphone turn on your Bluetooth.
4. You are going to want to keep your Hornbill Smart Lock visible to Bluetooth, you can do this by pressing any key on the keypad.
5. Open your TTLock on your phone.
6. Tap Add Lock.
7. Select Door Lock and follow the instruction on the screen to pair your Hornbill Smart Lock to the TTLock App.

How to Create Admin Passcode on Hornbill Smart Lock

When you have a Hornbill Smart Lock the first thing you will need to do is create a personal admin code that only you know to better secure your home.

Note, if you want guests or family members to have access to your home you can create separate passcodes for them to have. Here are a few steps on how to create an admin passcode on your Hornbill Smart Lock.

TTLock App:

1. Open your TTLock App on your smartphone.
2. Scroll down and tap Settings.
3. Tap Basic.
4. Select Admin Passcode.
5. Follow on-screen instructions to set up your passcode.
6. Your passcode can be 4 to 9 characters

Hornbill Smart Lock App:

1. Open Hornbill Smart Lock App on your smartphone.
2. On the home screen tap the Settings icon that is located in the top right corner.
3. Scroll down and select Admin Passcode.
4. Follow on-screen instructions to create your Hornbill Smart Lock admin passcode.

How to Factory Reset Hornbill Smart Lock

When you are having issues with your Hornbill Smart Lock or selling the old one and replacing it with a new lock you may want to do a Factory Reset.

When you do a Factory Reset this will reset everything, meaning that all your passwords will be reset. You will also have to pair your Hornbill Smart Lock to your TTLock App, Hornbill Smart Lock App, Google Home, and Alexa once again when you do a Factory Reset.

If you are sure you want to do a Factory Reset on your Hornbill Smart Lock follow these few easy steps:

1. Remove the battery cover from your Hornbill Smart Lock.
2. Remove the battery and put the battery back in after a couple of seconds.
3. Find the reset button, it is a small black button below the thumb turn look on the back of the interior assembly.
4. Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds.
5. Release the reset button.
6. You will see the indicator lights flash red and then green. This will let you know that your Hornbill Smart Lock has been reset to the factory settings.
